Gov. Schwarzenegger Renews California's Commitment to Climate Change Leadership at 3rd Annual Governors' Summit

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger welcomed attendees to the Mondavi Center at UC Davis for the Governors' Global Climate Summit 3--the first time the event has been held anywhere other than Beverly Hills. The event featured Governor Schwarzenegger, Governor Jim Doyle of Wisconsin, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm of Michigan, Governor Chris Gregoire of Washington, and Governor Ted Kulongoski of Oregon, as well as Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom live via satellite. In his welcome speech (available here), Gov. Schwarzenegger focused on the progress made in establishing green and clean technology markets, despite the lack of comprehensive federal climate legislation or an ambitious international agreement.
