His professional background includes being the Executive Directorin charge of clean tech commercializationat SRI International (Stanford Research Institute), founder and CEO of Averatek Corp., founding CEO of Artificial Muscle, Inc., CEO of Thomson Industries, CEO of ITP Systems , CEO of Applicon, Inc., CEO of Schlumberger Automation Systems Asia, GM of the General Electric Robotics and Vision Systems Business, Managing Partner of the PwC High Tech Practice, and Principal in charge of high technology consulting practice at Booz, Allen & Hamilton. His academic background includes a BSEE (Vanderbilt University), an MSEE and a PhDEE (University of Houston), and an MBA (Boston University). He has one patent issued and three pending. He has also authored over 25 papers in technical journals and trade magazines,has authored two books (Roadmap to the e-Factory and The Digital Horizon: Hopeful or Hopeless), and was the editor of a third book (Life Wins!)
